eCommerce Consulting Project in Central Asia

Situation

eCommerce remains an infant industry in Central Asia. Many customers prefer to view and feel products before making a final decision. Identifying a key gap in the market, AyTrade consulted and worked with local partners in Turkmenistan in order to bring a compelling eCommerce offering to market and capitalize on the as-yet unrealized potential of digital commerce within the country.

Solution

AyTrade consulted with local partners to establish a comprehensive eCommerce platform within Turkmenistan. AyTrade helped to train a local project manager in order to grow the business, sign up vendors, and establish a comprehensive marketing plan to ensure growth. AyTrade continues to work with the enterprise in order to build and scale a competent team encompassing all areas of the business, including technology, marketing and operations.

More recently, AyTrade worked with a local developer to conceptualize, plan and launch a brand new mobile application that has been extremely well received by customers since launch.

Where are they now?

AyTrade continues to consult with the eCommerce platform on a variety of issues as they continue to grow. AyTrade has recently helped to implement one of the first online payment platforms in the country. There remain significant challenges associated with scaling the business, including changing consumer perceptions of eCommerce.

AyTrade will continue to assist the Company in any way it can to achieve its goal of becoming the number one eCommerce platform in Turkmenistan. In just a year, the Company offers over 15,000 products from more than 70 different vendors and is on the path to profitability. The Company is focussed on unlocking the potential made possible through online payments and repayments in order to reduce the frictions associated with e-commerce in the region.
